Sullivan - Excellent Office Suite: Streamlined, Integrated and Refined - Great ValueI love the Microsoft Office 2013 suite of products, and I have no problem associating the product key with my Office account for a remote product download. The download process was initially frustrating, not having any progress indicators on which to rely, but once the product had finished its installation procedure, working on my computer became a more pleasurable experience thanks to the powerful software features provided by each software component.
The menu elements and layout options are customizable, and the interface easily becomes familiar to old and new users alike. The sharp edges and pinstripe division makes for an incredibly clean look. Many free and for-purchase online templates are available for immediate use within all of the software applications which comprise the Office 2013 suite.
The inclusion of SkyDrive cloud storage makes my most important network connection of all readily available: myself! It is fantastic having the option to store either locally or onto my SkyDrive for items of which I wish to have access while away from one device or another. With my Office account, I can use Office Web Apps, which include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote to work on my cloud-stowed files, or I may allow SkyDrive to fetch files from my PC, then I can easily access them as well through the left hand pane of the web browser SkyDrive menu. This truly is life simplified.
The core Office 2013 applications are not only phenomenal, but also better than ever. Word 2013, Excel 2013 and PowerPoint 2013 are easy to use and have integrative and compelling new features that provide a streamlined workflow. I am new to OneNote 2013, and I consider it a welcome addition to my workflow; it is easy to understand the hierarchical relationship within "My Notebook," and I highly enjoy implementing its versatile note keeping features into my daily affairs.
Microsoft includes Outlook 2013 in the Home & Business license. This is an essential application for managing email, tasks, calendars and contacts. As one of the most stress-reducing applications available from the suite, it justifies the added cost over the Home & Student edition. The ability to do advanced sorts on my mailboxes, or even save all attachments in one easy step, managing daily tasks and email has never been simpler.
I am very happy with Office 2013 Home & Business. I believe the price is reasonable considering the value the individual tools provide. There are other options available, but none of them work in as streamlined and as integrated a manner, either locally or on SkyDrive, as well as Microsoft Office 2013.
